Viewing the Taj Mahal at night is available five days a month, including a whole moon night and two nights before and after the full moon. All these aspects, the dates, and the timings for the night viewing of the Taj are decided by the Archaeological Survey of India. Viewing the Taj Mahal at night takes place between 8:30 pm and 12:30 am in 8 batches of about 50 people for about 30 minutes each. Hence, only 400 people are allowed on a single night.

While visiting the Taj Mahal at night, visitors are required to arrive half an hour before their scheduled time at the Shilpa Gram complex. They aren't allowed inside the monument at night and can view the Taj Mahal only from a distance. All belongings and luggage have to be deposited at a security counter before the night viewing starts. Video cameras are not allowed inside the monument during the night viewing.

• Dates: Viewings are held for 5 nights: the full moon night and the two nights before and after.
• Closed: The Taj Mahal is closed for night viewing every Friday and during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan (approx. Feb 19 - Mar 20, 2026) and Muharram.

• July: Full Moon 29 July, 2026 - Viewing: July 27, 28, 29, 30, 31.
• August: Full Moon 28 Aug, 2026 - Viewing: Aug  26, 27, 28, 29, 30.
• September: Full Moon 26 Sep, 2026 - Viewing: Sep 24, 25, 26, 27, 28.
• October: Full Moon 26 Oct, 2026 - Viewing: Oct 24, 25, 26, 27, 28.
• November: Full Moon 24 Nov, 2026 - Viewing: Nov 22, 23, 24, 25, 26.
• December: Full Moon 23 Dec, 2026 - Viewing: Dec 21, 22, 23, 24, 25.
• January: Full Moon 22 Jan, 2027 - Viewing: Jan 20, 21, 22, 23, 24.
  
• February: During the Ramadan month (From 17-02-2027 to 08-05-2027), there will be no Night Viewing of the Taj Mahal in the month of February 2027
• March: Full Moon 21 Jan, 2027 - Viewing: March 19, 20, 21, 22, 23.
